On August 8, 2019 the game will disappear from digital stores on platforms like PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Steam, and Nintendo eShop. Those that already have the game downloaded on their video game console will still be able to play the game, but consumers will no longer be able to purchase and download the title going forward.
DuckTales: Remastered was developed by WayForward and published by Capcom. DuckTales has experienced a resurgence in popularity in recent years, so it’s not unlikely that Disney is charging a premium to renew the license to keep the game up on digital storefronts.
The game will be pulled later in the day on August 8 on Xbox 360 (and Xbox One via backwards compatibility), PS3, Wii U, and Steam. If you still haven’t downloaded the game yet, Capcom has reduced the price of the game by 75 percent as a farewell favor for fans. You can currently get this on steam for $3.74.
