“Mulan” Release on Disney+ Will Not Be Available Via In-App Purchase

Disney has announced it would premiere on Disney+ on September 4. Rather than simply being added to the platform, Mulan will be available for an additional $29.99 for anyone with a Disney+ subscription.

The info page for Mulan states Disney+ will offer Premier Access “for $29.99 on disneyplus.com and select platforms. Once you have Premier Access to Mulan, you can watch as many times as you want on any platform where Disney+ is available.”

Starting September 4, with Premier Access, you can watch Mulan before it’s available to all Disney+ subscribers. Disney+ will offer Premier Access to Mulan for $29.99 on disneyplus.com and select platforms. Once you have Premier Access to Mulan, you can watch as many times as you want on any platform where Disney+ is available. Your access to Mulan will continue as long as you are an active Disney+ subscriber.

This implies that the initial Premier Access will not be available on all platforms. Guests would have to access Disney+ on a web browser to pay for access to the film. They would then be able to watch it on the web or on a mobile app.
